The function of the Intelligence Corps is to provide specialist intelligence and security capabilities in support of military operations.
Security is one of the principles of war, information and intelligence is one of the functions in combat.
Primary function of the Intelligence Corps: Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), Imagery Intelligence (IMINT), Human Intelligence (HUMINT), Operational Intelligence (OPINTEL) and Counter-Intelligence (CI)
Tasks of the Intelligence Corps: Intelligence Collection, Intelligence Management, Intelligence Production and Field Security Advice.

The Intelligence Corps are based at Chicksands in Bedfordshire where it is a Tri-Service establishment with responsibility for training military and civilian personnel in a diverse range of intelligence skills.
